Understanding Headship and the Spritual Covering

Without any animosity or ill feeling toward those who wear cloth coverings, the Barths present from Scripture the reasons why they believe the passage in I Corinthians 11 is referring to spiritual covering & headship, rather than physical.

Whichever way the Lord directs us on this issue, it is important to remember to maintain a courteous spirit of love & kindness toward those who believe in a physical covering, & they, in turn, should show the same respect to those of us who have strong Biblical reasons for not wearing a physical covering.
