ABC Preschool Books Set of 9 Books

Parents can use this series of workbooks with preschool children to help prepare them for first grade. These books offer an alternative to kindergarten and provide a wholesome spiritual emphasis. Set includes 8 workbooks plus Bible Stories to Read. ------ This series, designed to awaken and shape the mental and motor skills of four-to-five-year-olds, is our favourite for preparing little ones for school, having been used in our household many times over and with great success. These are simple to use, inexpensive, can easily be completed over the course of a year, and are full of constructive exercises for the development of visual, auditory, mental, motor, and oral skills, filling young minds with truth, rather than the fantasy found in much of children’s literature today. Most modern preschool workbooks are pre-coloured and use stickers, but these workbooks give beneficial practice in the fine-motor skills of colouring, cutting, and pasting, as well as learning numbers, recognizing letters, and following directions. The original A-B-C Series is currently being developed to extend to the G-H-I Series. When completed there will be a total of 12 workbooks to help build a good scholastic foundation for the preschool child. This new series uses a specific geographic region as a theme for each book, giving the added advantage of teaching geographic awareness by association as well as an awareness of God as the Creator. The exercises are designed for the child to do with adult guidance. Each workbook conveniently includes directions for parents, and ideas for discussion which call the child’s attention to many everyday things that will help rivet the concepts being taught. These workbooks may be used alone as a preschool and reading readiness curriculum, or as a supplement to reinforce any other program you may be using. Each workbook is SC, 64 pages, 21x26.5cm. Recommended Scheduling: The book Bible Pictures to Color contains 60 pictures to accompany the Bible Stories to Read storybook. Intersperse using these books during the whole school year as you are doing the other workbooks. For the seven other workbooks (A and C-H), use them in alphabetical order. There are 64 pages in each book. To make the preschool program last for a typical school year, use about 2 or 3 pages per day of the workbooks, and a Bible story and picture every 3 days or so.
